CrossFit Level 1
I’ve always been an athlete, I played lacrosse, soccer, and basketball in school and since then have done my share of individual training, and even dabbled with some 5K, triathlons, and half marathon training. Practice Crossfit seemed to be where I was destined to end up; I had just started a new job in March 2010, met a friend that knew a trainer at PCF, was getting bored of my own individual training and needed to try something new. I briefly heard on my first day at the job about a gym in Troy, my initial thought was “What is this place? I’ve been in this town for almost 4 years and have never heard about it?” Within weeks, I had checked out the PCF website, along with the schedule and decided I had to check it out, as instructed I followed the blog and did not call, I just showed up to see for myself. Within minutes I was intrigued, walking in I didn’t get the vibe of the stereotypical typical meat market gym, and I wanted more, I wasn’t overwhelmed or scared, I just wanted to be a part of it! I immediately joined and never looked back, I was hungry and thirsty for more, wishing I had found this place sooner, but happy to have finally found a spot in a place I now call home, surrounded by amazing people that I am honored to call family. I love so many things about Crossfit and PCF; it’s not just about an awesome workout, doing cool shit, moving heavy stuff, throwing your body around in way you never imagined, it’s about the community, it’s about people working together, helping each other reach and exceed their potential. Crossfit has an intensity like no other, and everyone can do it, how cool is that?
So after a year of practicing crossfit, I now have the chance to teach it, and I am excited to have that opportunity after receiving my level 1 certification at Rogue April 2011. As a Crossfit trainer, I look forward to getting to know each of you and help you channel your inner beast, because like I said, anyone can do it, and everyone has a beast inside of them, you may just need an extra nudge to wake it up. I hope you’ll love crossfit as much as I do and just have fun while you are here, because the people are awesome and the workouts are a blast. Just as long as you give it all you have every day, I promise to be consistent with you and give it everything I have to help you achieve your goals. So get your game face on and let’s have some fun!
