| Something people would be surprised to learn about you? | I once ran a marathon. My favorite story is when I signed up to run my first race in the 6th grade. It was the Dunkirk 10K. I ran 2 miles 2 days before the race to see if I could run. Sore… but went to the race anyways with my 2 older brothers who were on the state cross country team. The first mile went great, the next 3 were walk/jog/walk/jog.. Then at mile 4, nature called. I stopped at a lady’s house and asked if I could use her restroom. Shortly afterwards, a police car followed me to near the end. This meant I was in last place. As I finished, people cheered for me. They were probably waiting for me to do the door prizes. Before the awards, a woman came up to me and asked if I wanted the trophy for the Youngest Finisher or the Highest Female Finisher. I stood proud next to one of my brothers for a newspaper picture with my Highest Female Finisher trophy. I don’t think my other brother was very happy. |
