Position over speed, patience before power.
It’s no surprise when your hip shoots too fast and you miss a lift. Even when everything from your shoes to your shoulders was perfect. Even when your eyes focused above the horizon, your back set and your knees rotated.
You miss because you hurry. It’s not because you don’t know how to do it right or that you’re not strong enough, it’s because you’ve been hurried all day and now you’re hurrying at CrossFit. If there’s one cardinal sin; it’s rushing results.
Olympic lifting is first about patience, that’s why it’s so rewarding. Then it’s about trusting yourself and seven-feet of steel combined with tendon muscle and a strong will.
