Angela’s new hand – Take 3

Every new hand attempt brings us more functionality. It’s like every single CrossFit workout; they’re all important for different reasons.

We bust out the camera every time the smart folks come to town with body parts in their bags. Hopefully, we can simplify the process for those still to come. Hopefully they’re just as stoked as Angela is about trying something new – something foreign that doesn’t always go as planned.

Warm-up:

Coaches choice.

For time:

25-Burpee box jumps
-then-
12-Push press 75/115
12-SDLHP 75/115
5 Rounds

Strength:

Deadlift @70%
7-7-7-7-7
Thruster @70%
7-7-7-7-7
*Begin a minute clock. Dead on the first minute. Then alternate with Thruster for the next minute. Continue this for all 10 sets.

Auxiliary:

5-Strict HSPU
5-Strict T2B
5 Rounds

    Bonnie, Carrie and Matt – ventured out in the blizzard and killed it! It’s a test of focus and skill to get to Practice today not to mention you have Sumo’s, Thrusters and Burpee Box jumps when you get here!!! Awesome being with you guys this am!! Stay safe and warm today!!

    Mizz Karr…that arm’s gonna be cool as hell, but it ain’t magic. Auxiliary…now that’s some a’ the magic. Ride her about it, ladies.

    crap Kara ur killing me…i was like a big piece of shit after the wod, that wod destroyed me so im thinking screw the auxillary I AM TIRED, but nope Kara and 10 kept riding my ass till i did it. yes ur right Kara auxillary is the magic maker :) and btw going to gym later to work on my pullups but my hands r shot, they was hurting and burning when i was hanging from the bar, so does that happen to everybody???

    10…ur the man to put up with the 9am class…lets just say we talk about everything in graphic detail ;)

    Decided to take this on from work.
    I don’t recommend 25 burpees before anything, (much less burpee box jumps) but this one gets heavy after awhile.

    Whew…that was one rough lunch break :)

    13:40m (burpee box jumps onto 12 inch box)
    weight at 75# for PP and SDHP

    So nice to spend noon with several I don’t get to see often. And this class got that burpees BJs weren’t gonna be the worst of this WOD from the start.

    Jonathan- thanks for choosing a WOD over a nap today! Best SDHP and thruster form I’ve seen from you in some time.
    Kelly H- you are stronger than you think. Your 1RM DL is definitely more than 75# and your hs negative work was stellar.
    Jen A- some strong improvement in your DL today, eh? Now you’re stronger AND more efficient.
    Krissy/Nikki- you 5a dogs are good any time of day.

    did the WOD at home as usual on a wednesday
    burpee box jumps on a short box and did the PP’s and the SDLHP’s with 75# in 14:59
    did the deadlift/thrusters with 75/65 lbs respectively.
    Not the same as being there and having the proper instruction but alot better than not doing it at all.
