Athletes like Angela don’t want sympathy or applauds. They just want to do the things many of us take for granted.

She can Clean and Jerk better with one hand, than most of us can with two, she squats a ton, and she never stops trying to improve. In fact, that’s what these videos are all about – improvement. We’re creating a tool to keep up with her desire.

    Holy crap, I’m so glad I woke up this AM! Don’t let their quiet approach to class deceive you. PRs all around this AM and form was outstanding!

    Vicki clapped quietly in the corner at a 40# PR while her partner in silence scored a 30#-er! What?! Patrick rings the bell discreetly (who does that?) w 385. Shane got 505 off the ground but walked w a not-to-shabby 465. Nick Cunningham joined us, finally!, and EASILY earned 415. Definitely coulda done more. Sam, Nate, Ryan and Eric were impressin as well. And Rex put in some solid technique mastery time.

    WOD surprised some of you. It goes really fast for a reason, so really think about your weight selection.

    Butt-walking will come up again! That was a missed media moment for sure.

    Michelle…love seeing you working! You can see in this video how much you love what you do…so AWESOME!!! Angela, I CANNOT wait to see you climb that rope, do your pull-ups, and everything else you have your mind set on!!!

    Witnessed the butt-walking…I’m pretty sure Foster made that up!

    6am set a bar for the day, and 9a took ‘em up on the challenge. PRs for all! Very exciting, but I’ve gotta admit feelin a little envy.

    Sharon Vest…i’m seeing an angry, grunting DL on camera in your future. ;) Nice work w auxiliary.

    Ladies- love your team efforts and your good humor during warm-up. “Booty scootin’” it’s called from here forward, Renee. Mr. Mitchell, you always have my mad respect for bein the solo dude. Fine adjustment for a big dead.

    Kara-im sure u made us do the butt scoot for ur evil pleasure cause we all looked retarded doing it…and tell me oh wise one, how the hell is that a functional movement of crossfit???!!! J/K ..good class Foster, loved how u spent extra time going over the movements of the c&j.

    Angela! One more CrossFit athlete saying, “Hey, let me try that!” I love it! I’m 2 weeks shy of a full year at Flagler Beach CrossFit in Florida. I’m 67, with a long list of “stuff.” (new hip, new shoulder, triple bypass surgery, multiple knee surgeries, etc.) – BUT, a coach who will scale anything for me!
    I can DL and pullup and rope climb, but can’t clean or press or snatch. I’m just so thankful for what I CAN do… but of course only want MORE!!!
    You are an inspiration to me and I look forward to watching your progress!

      Frank, very nice to meet you! Ain’t Crossfit awesome??!! i just cant get enough, you and I both know we have to work twice as hard as everyone else but ohhhh the results are that much more satisfying. But heres a secret Frank, i couldnt do half of these things without the support and encouragement of my trainers (special nod to Josh), friends and Michelle (making my arm). We got this Frank, scaled or not, when we hear 3,2,1, GO…we go, cause after all, thats what Crossfit is all about :)

    Angela- I’m an arm amp in Michigan (AE from a severe dog bite). My gym is not a CF but we do a lot of CF things. You’re awesome! I know the whole rope climbing desire. We have a rope at my gym but I still haven’t found a way to climb it. I deadlift with my full arm (our biggest KB is 97# + I can do that easily) but really can’t use my prosthetic arm because of pressure on my elbow. I went out + trained at Gym Jones in Salt Lake City last year. Like you, I know how important the right trainer is! My arm has gone airborne, come apart, + even punched me once! My trainer is awesome and was the one who challenged me to go out to Gym Jones. I am looking forward to the sequel to this!

    Like you said there are a lot of things we take for granted like pull ups. You have such a great outlook and i am rooting for you I know it will happen for you.

    24 at #95 lbs i need to work on my dip for sure, did most of the overhead pressing with my arms, got a great workout but clould do more reps with the proper technique. 15 seconds flies by!
