The doughnuts aren’t going anywhere
Batman head-butts people a lot. I wish I was Batman.
Haven’t you ever been in line at the gas station only to hear, “I’ll start my diet tomorrow” come from the person holding six Krispy Creams behind you? Right after I hear it, I usually imagine myself soaring through the air all cape and confidence. I land right in front of that Joker with the doughnuts, and bash my lead lined cowl right into their crazy smile because I just don’t get the joke.
I think head-butts solve problems.
Think about it, if you caught a broken nose every time you were a hypocrite, how much more accountable would you be? Batman always did give you just enough rope to hang yourself, meaning: the doughnuts aren’t going anywhere, but that doesn’t mean you should have any.
It’s scary how good I have become at living in my own little world. I hate that.
It’s not the CrossFitters I’m around everyday that I should pay the most attention to, it’s everyone else. It’s those poor souls without out community of accountability. Didn’t Jesus say something about the sick needing the doctor, not the healthy? The sinners needing saved, not the righteous?
To me, saved is a guy in a bat costume doling out the “Zams,” “Biffs,” and “Ka-Pows.”
Sure, I know nothing of this person behind me. And sure I’m as judgmental as a jury hanging a guy that still has blood on his hands, but someone has to say something.
“I bet you would feel much better in the morning, if you started that diet tonight,” I said to my rather shocked stranger. Her boyfriend didn’t look to happy either. Whatever, head-butting her may not have helped, but doing nothing certainly wouldn’t have either.
I tried something I thought would help, for someone I didn’t even know. At least I was thoughtful enough to Batman up on this chick and give her a nudge – she can do whatever she wants with it, but at least I gave her the opportunity to decide. At least I tried to knock some sense into her.
Head-butts hurt both heads. But, not nearly as much as doing nothing does.

Josh, you kill me…I am Batman in the grocery store but then my husband gives me the look like, “If you say a word I will head butt YOU!” So I bite my tongue and walk away.
While reading this I thought of that V-8 commercial where everyone hits eachother upside the head and says, “Should’ve had a V-8.” I like the idea…maybe not a head butt b/c I don’t want to bruise my head but maybe a hit upside the head would work? I’m for it…who’s with me?!?!?! If I go to jail…Josh, will you bail me out? Cause I know my husband will say “told you so!” ha!
Thanks for the great blog (as always)!

Great 5:30 class!
Know those OHS make you growl. You did well. Remember what they used to be like with the pipe? Heat that low back.
530 – thanks for spending the time with me. lots to cover and ya’ll did a great job making modification decisions quickly and appropriately. partner warm-up was fun to watch, especially the threesome – what talented dudes!
sam and mark g – your hip2bar-s weren’t too shabby. keep working on those long arms and legs.
david – you’ve got ground kipping nailed so now we can take it to the bar for pull-ups.
jerry – love your sense of humor about your learning. you’ve come a long way in short time.
several of you tight-hippers struggled with your OHS tonight. a little more warm-up time might have helped, sure, but on nights like these, gettin’ there early may be extra important.
Crap – forgot the quote of the night. Gotta give it to Gilardi for his deep response during auxiliary.
Me: What’s the benefit of using the bands w weighted movements?
Gilardi: Tight butt cheeks
And what pals you have cuz the class just let it pass. Thanks Sam and Doug for helping him to recover.
And my apologies as I shorted ya’ll a one minute round on aux by mistake.
