Let it breath
Most experts are often only experts at making simple complicated.
Working out, eating, CrossFit, Paleo, that’s easy, that’s life. My aim is to simplify, not stupefy my friends with big words and silly products. So called “experts” get their hands up the skirt of fitness and try to whore it out to the highest bidder. The rest of us, the ones that realize we are not messiahs of exercise, want to take off the blinders and show everyone what they don’t want you to see; health is easy, if your willing to let it breath.
A rather superior athlete contacted me the other day. I maintain their eating for them, they maintain their own programming. Coincidentally, if that actually existed, a not so superior athlete, who I also tell what to eat, did the same. In the end, they both received the exact same advice and they are both on two very different ends of the spectrum.
Both athletes are trainable and hungry for improvement. One just missed the games, the other has no aspiration for California they just love CrossFit. Both are incredibly susceptible to temptation. Both pop the cork and drink, never letting the wine breath long enough to taste it’s sweetest.
Over the years I have worked with thousands of athlete’s. The returns are much simpler than experts usually admit. One thing I have learned is that I am not special, nor are you-meaning: CrossFit+Paleo works for almost everyone all of the time. If it doesn’t, I canĀ guaranteeĀ one of two things; Either your lying and cheating on diets and workouts. Or, your simply jumping ship every time another boat sails close by.
Everything is confusing now, even CrossFit is much more complicated that what it once was. Which shoes do I wear on which day and for what potion of the workout? Do I need my rope climb socks, or my SDHP socks? What sort of Olympic method should I use; aggressive, CrossFit, Chinese, Bulgarian, Polish? What version of Paleo should I follow, Cordain’s, Wolf’s, Sisson’s, Bunch’s(yes I totally put my name in their because I have a book hitting the shelves also).
In the beginning the answer may not be much better than flipping a coin. But beginning’s give us endings, and endings say much if you stayed around long enough to see exactly what works, what works better, and what works best, because when it comes to CrossFit+Paleo, it just works- if you give it time to breath.

That work out is no joke…should throw in some tire flips for kicks. Gonna do my best to be there.
As for Paleo, I’ve been doing it for a couple months now, easing my way into at first 80/20, than 3 cheater meals, then one cheater day, now no cheater days. Now I’ll be the first to admit I’m not perfect but I think I’m pretty good at it. I do it because the logic seems sound. However, over the past 4 weeks my weight has remained unchanged. I believe I’m still losing inches and fat as well add gaining muscle . What I don’t know is how do you determine your “ideal” weight or BMI? The real determining factor for me is my blood work. I took a sample 1 well into my crossfit journey, my next will be in November.
