Part 2
Part 1

Last week, “Steal this vid”, touched on wraps and chalk. This week we discuss belts, straps, slingshots, and Olympic shoes.

Equipment is meant to enhance training and nothing more. Once it becomes a crutch or safety net-stop using it. This is but a taste of the smorgasbord of equipment utilized today. In fact, there is multiple uses for some of the items we listed above. Not to mention the fact that certain items above function in a slightly different way, creating an entirely different effect.

The point isn’t to get all wrapped up in the specifics. The point is, as always, to share knowledge, exchange opinions, and get stronger. Enjoy.

    July 6: strength squats,
WOD: reps of sots press, hang snatch, hang clean, power snatch,Romanian deadlift.
    Then
    EMOM: 2 snatches for 5 min @ 65lbs.
    Then
Work up to 1rep Max on snatch..75lbs
…I have a couple questions, on backsquat is it better to not bounce out of your squat? And on a power snatch should you use the momentum of your hip to bring the bar up?

A high bar back squat employs what looks to b a bounce out of the hole….the athlete uses the entire range of motion and the give or whip of the barbell plus proprr timimg to reverse the bar into the concentic phase…..however…a low bar back squat changes the moment arm and leverage…the athlets range of motion changes and tension is gathered in an entirely differant manner….both have their time and place….

Concerning ur pwr snatch…the hip contacts the bar and momentum plus a catapult effecr propel the barbell verticially….if someone is twlling u differantly at another box ask for an explanation…and politly accept the answer….we all miss ya by the way

Thank you. And yes we talked about it. And he said, about the snatch that I am not going to want to hit the bar with my hips but to straighten my hip and use my arms to bring the bar up. Straightening my hip will let my arms react and that will bring the bar up. It kind of confused me but that is why I was asking.
Again thank you. And I miss everyone very much, really wanted to be apart of the July 4th wod..
