Making a difference globally

Charity isn’t a CrossFit thing, it’s a human thing. Its us helping others. Charity is cyclical and we all need some version of a graceful offering at some point in our lives. With that in mind, you gotta give to get.

“Faith without works is dead,” as quoted in the book of James. Sometimes our faith is physical-we offer a hand to rebuild a home. Faith can be emotional-it can help a hurting heart that is not your own, and more than likely, we all share in this need at one time or another. Lastly, faith is the means to make things happen, and in the world we live in today, money is means. Money is not a solution, but rather a bridge enabling certain folks the ability to survive long enough to find the answer that will eliminate their need for charity.

Charity isn’t a CrossFit thing, but we are going to use CrossFit as our model to grow locally and globally, just as the video explains above.  I even hate saying “we need your help”, because clearly it’s “they,” who need all of us. It’s those kids growing up in conditions most of will never have a clue about. Families surviving such oppression where a glass of clean water becomes their cheat meal, a smile their entertainment.

I’m not telling you how to spend your money, that’s for you too decide. Your choices are yours to celebrate, or yours to regret. If another customized pair of Nano’s means more than life, you deal with your conscious. If your need for abundance trumps their need for survival, then I cannot motivate you to do anything.

Help CrossFit build a school. Help us fight locally, help us make a change globally. Do something that matters today.

1:47 Row…. I raced Steve Lockhart for 500m and would truly rather row a 5K than do that again. He crushed me, ha!

Fun noon class… lots of people picking up big weight and climbing those ropes.

Shelby- despite those nasty burns you earned on the rope, nice job… you did great!

Tyrone, Jill, Chuck, and Shelby are just a handful of people that I saw make it up the regular ropes for the first time today. Looking forward to seein’ the evening crews.

Several new faces have walked through the doors this week. Make em feel welcome and introduce yourselves, PCFers :)

2:00 row…thanks to Paul…who also attempted the rope again this eve. I can see it concerns you but that’s a good thing….really. ;)

Best moment tonight? Seeing Brittany arrive 15mins early and get down to mobility for every single minute she had pre-warm up to get those hips ready for lots of squats. THAT’s the kind of commitment that’ll earn you PRs.

Matt…thanks for checkin in after the WOD. Good to see color in your face tonight! ;)

And the evening pull-uppers…your dedication makes me smile. You’ll get to put some a’ that practice to the test tomorrow! Vickster – I love your passion about the Games. Sandy Maloy – appreciate your constant, genuine smile. Deb-drag your other friend’s butt in here with you next time!

And all the athletes who stayed for the running program tonight despite the heat, hooah!!
