Focus on the few

Jul 01, 2012 13 Comments by

For whatever reason, a few of us grow up thinking we can save the world. Be it ego, vainglorious hallucinations, or selfless intent, some just keep believing. Others just want to leave this place with a touch more light than when we got here. For both goals, be it one or many, the action is the same, focus on the few.

Many of us fall into the same category. The “not good enough” crowd. The, “I should do more for more”, “I should be more”, “I should give more” group of humans trying desperately to feel value and worth in this world. While these feelings may indeed have the correct motivation behind them, it is often our wounded state of mind that limitless our perception. We often forget, that change is like a seed in need of water, and that “a” seed becomes “a” forest whenever we focus on the few.

Today your gonna pick that human that needs you. Not the world, that one specific living individual. Your gonna give them the attention they may not want, and they may not be thankful for and your going to forget about the rest of the planet for a second. Your going to pray that the rest of the world does the same thing as you, at exactly the same time. If we all turned to our neighbors right now selflessly……could you imagine?

I, as much as any previously assassinated, crucified, or martyred leader want to lead a revolt horse high through the hills of hurting nations today, and I will. But only if I focus on the few. The few who will become the many.

As disciples there were twelve. Twelve souls that one man picked to spread a religion that defies all human instinct. And even he said we can do things greater than he. He focused on few, that became many.

Some people will never buy into CrossFit. Many will not like you, or your religion, or your healthy habits that shed a very revealing light on their own behavior. Awesome, let them hate, let them taunt, and let them disagree. Then, today, everyday, focus on the ones who persevere, the ones who fight alongside you. Focus on the few.

We can save this place by the billions, if we start with the one beside us.
