CrossFit is about training no doubt. Health, fitness, wellness, whatever, CrossFit is it. But a big part of that is playing. Part of taking your health seriously is the ability to let your guard down and play with fitness.
CrossFit boxes are one part therapy sessions, one part human engineering through exercise, and one part playground. In fact, it is one of the only places adults can find solace, and reward in goofing off for no reason other than to see what happens.
While I may not recommend the crazy barbell shenanigans the athlete above is performing effortlessly, I will recommend that you go back to your roots, all our roots, and that you just play with something new fun and inventive
Many CrossFit’s tend to forget those glory days when playtime was a daily event. Many CrossFit’s lose that childlike willingness when the addiction of “better at CrossFit” becomes too strong. Many CrossFitters forget, that to become “better at CrossFit”, one needs work, and play. One cannot occur without the other.
After your training is over, play, relax, and get better.
