Focus, fight, and forge ahead with Cindy: “Easy”
Cindy’s weekly dose of reality couldn’t have come at a better time. With less than one month into the new year, I’m sure we all wish life was a little easier at times.
If you listen to the radio or watch TV then you are peppered with how easy getting healthy can me. Replace your meals with a shake. Count your points to lose weight and be happy. If that doesn’t work, buy pajama jeans and a Forever Lazy . Happiness is sure to follow. The truth is; brace yourself because we have only been told this about 100 times in and still many of us choose NOT to hear it….if something is truly worth anything, it will not be easy.
For example, marriage. Whoever tells you marriage is easy…is not married. All relationships are difficult. When you are in a relationship you have to take the good with the bad. At some point during a relationship you will have to ask forgiveness and you will have to forgive. We all are not perfect and we all make mistakes and sometimes our words can be hurtful and our actions can be harmful. But you don’t give up because the joy of a good relationship is like no other…again anything truly worth something will not be easy.
Same goes for CrossFit, if someone tells you CrossFit is easy than they have never meet “Angie” “Randy” “Chelsea” or “Murph.” But CrossFit is not difficult because of the weight we move or the ripped up hands we get. CrossFit is difficult because of one thing, the crap we tell ourselves and the fact we believe it. The pain of a hard AMRAP fades but the hurt from not believing in what you can do lingers. The work you have to do off the WOD floor is what makes CrossFit truly amazing. I am not taking anything away from PR’s or the joy of getting a movement that you once never thought possible. I love the rush of all of that but I also love the rush of knowing that I have rebuilt my foundation solid, not because I want to fit into a pair of jeans but because I want to be the strong woman I know I can be…again anything truly worth something will not be easy.
It’s easy to show up…It’s easy to be hurtful…It’s easy to blame everyone else.
Don’t just show up…be in that moment. Don’t be hurtful…and if you are say you are sorry and actually mean it. Don’t blame everyone else for your own unhappiness because it’s easy to tear down them instead of rebuilding yourself.
Because anything truly worth something will never be easy…But it will be worth it.

GREAT job today 9am er’s! Everyone held on to the bar the whole 3 mins and kept a great pace with the burpee box jumps!!! Way to step it up on the back squats too and work your weakness with either low bar or high bar.
I really enjoyed the strength work today. I could feel myself warming up as each set progressed.
